Learning Through Play
WHCP’s Early Childhood Education program provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners in Pre‑school and Kindergarten. Our experienced early childhood educators understand child development deeply and design every activity to build both skills and joy.

Student Life
Activities, leadership, community service, and academic support for every WHCP student.
Student Activities
Students are encouraged to participate in after-school and extracurricular activities for their own enrichment and to strengthen their college applications. Schoolwork always comes first — activities are supported by a faculty or parent advisor once enough students express interest.
Activities Available
Depending on student interest, activities may include Student Government, class trips, school fundraisers, local election campaigns, the Student Art Show, and Chess.
Field Trips
Educational trips supplement classroom learning several times per year. Students and parents may suggest and help plan trips. Past destinations include the Natural History Museum, the Getty Center, the Skirball Cultural Center, West Hollywood City Hall, the Museum of Latin American Art, and theater outings.
Student Government
Middle and High School students in grades 6–12 can serve as student body leaders in WHCP's Student Government, hosting activities and fundraisers throughout the year under a faculty advisor.
Past activities include a bake sale for Breast Cancer Awareness, the Halloween Potluck Party, the Thanksgiving Celebration & Show, and a bake sale benefiting the Lange Foundation animal shelter.
Community Service
WHCP requires students in grades 9–12 to complete 100 community service hours prior to graduation. Counselors and staff help identify opportunities suited to each student's interests and abilities, and keep records of participation. Parental support is essential.

Academic Counseling
In WHCP's small school setting, teachers, counselors, and administrators team up to motivate students and help them be their best — academically, personally, and socially. We promote responsibility, self-discipline, strong ethics, and self-respect alongside rigorous college preparation.

Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is essential to the success of students at WHCP. Parents are encouraged to take part in school life in a number of ways:
PTO Meetings
Participate in monthly Parent Teacher Organization meetings. The PTO helps organize school events and projects, leads fundraisers, and coordinates parents and teachers in these activities.
Field Trips
Assist with school field trips by driving children to destinations and acting as chaperones throughout the year.
Progress Meetings
Request student progress report meetings, available throughout the year, where parents meet with teachers to discuss their child's academic development.
Events & Projects
Participate in school projects and events throughout the year — helping organize, supplying resources, and attending are all great ways to be part of student life.
Activity Advisor
Become an advisor for after-school student activities such as Student Government, the Student Art Show, and school fundraisers, based on student interest.

Come share what you do for work with our students at Career Day, helping them learn about different careers and pathways.
Parent Teacher Organization
WHCP's Parent Teacher Organization meets regularly to discuss ways for parents to enhance the quality of, and resources for, student life and learning. We invite you to become a PTO leader — organizing school projects, events, and fundraisers and bringing other parents and teachers on board to support your work.
